EDO 2016 UPDATE: OBASEKI EMERGES WINNER

Godwin Obaseki on Sunday emerged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Sept. 10 election in Edo State.
Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State, the leader of the party’s national
delegation that conducted the primary election, announced the results in Benin City.

Twelve(12) Candidates contested for the primary and the result of the election are as follows:

Mr. Obaseki scored 1,618 votes 

Deputy Governor. Dr Pius Odubu,  471 votes.

Former minister of state for works, Chris Ogiemwonyi, 137 votes.

Barr.Ken Imasuagbon, 247 votes.

Former governor of the state, Osariemen Osunbor, 8 votes

Prof. Ebegue Amadasu, 8 votes.

Gen. Charles Airhiabvere(rtd), 11 votes.

Emmanuel Arigbe-Osula, 10 votes.

Austin Emuan, 7 votes.

Blessing Agbomhere, 5 votes.

Tina Agbarha, the only female candidate scored 3 votes.

While 41 votes were invalid.

In his victory speech, Mr. Obaseki said his triumph was a collective one which required cooperation of all party members to succeed.
