The Governor of kogi state Alhaji Yahaya Bello was mute on the current strike rocking the state university which have been on for more than a month now. While making his speech on Friday following his victory at
the Election Tribunal, the Governor announced that the Kogi State University has been renamed after the late first non military personnel Governor of the state, Prince Abubakar Audu

The declaration was made amid a state wide show to check His triumph at the race appeal tribunal.
As indicated by the Governor, this is a definitive honor that should be possible to the memory of the late bright lawmaker who administered the state twice as the non military personnel senator from 1991 to 1993 and 1999 to 2003.
It was assembled that the late Audu set up the college in 2001 and named it Prince Abubakar Audu University, yet his successor , Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, changed the name to Kogi State University in 2004.
As was uncovered by the Governor, an official bill would soon be sent to the place of gathering to formalize the adjustment for the sake of the college.
Meanwhile, the students of the institution are still in their various homes due to the ungoing strike.
